Spring Recreational Soccer

About Legacy FC Spring Rec Soccer

Legacy FC offers local recreational programs in the Buffalo, Delano and Rockford communities. Families can choose to play in the program that best suits their needs.

Each week, kids will learn and practice new skills, make new soccer friends and play group games! Our Spring Rec coaches are volunteers (parents, youth players and Club staff), and the emphasis of the Legacy FC Spring Rec programming is learning new skills while developing a love for the game!

If you have questions about Legacy FC Spring Rec Soccer, please contact us at rec@legacyfc.org.

Make a Difference -- Become a Rec Coach!

Are you a parent who wants to make a positive impact on young lives while having a blast? Sign up to be an LFC Rec Soccer coach! No prior soccer experience? No problem! All you need is a bit of energy, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn. We provide you with the support, resources and guidance needed to confidently lead and inspire our budding soccer stars.

Remember, without coaches we can't have teams! Please consider becoming a volunteer coach -- your child will thank you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. ARE THESE THE SAME REC PROGRAMS PREVIOUSLY RUN BY WRIGHT COUNTY SOCCER?
A. Yes -- these are the exact same programs you've seen in your community for years! We've recently rebranded from Wright County Soccer to Legacy FC! Both Buffalo Rec Soccer and Tiger Rec (Delano) now fall under the same Legacy FC banner.

Q. HOW LONG IS THE SEASON?
A. Each of our local community-based Rec Soccer programs is slightly different, but generally speaking, the season will last about six full weeks.

Q. WHAT IS "MEET THE TEAM WEEK?"
A. We build in a day prior to the start of the game season for players to meet their coach and team and practice together before their first week of games. This helps ease some potential anxiety for all involved!

Q. WILL THERE BE TEAM PICTURES?
A. Of course! We host both team and individual pictures for all participants, usually in the middle of the season. You'll receive information and picture order forms at least one week in advance.

Q. WHAT TEAM WILL MY PLAYER BE ON?
A. Age divisions are determined by birth year (see birth year chart above). Teams are created by random selection.

Q. SHOULD I CONSIDER BECOMING A COACH?
A. Our Recreation program would not be able to run without the assistance of volunteer family members. Please consider coaching -- we offer loads of support and you'll have a blast!

Q. HOW ARE COACHES ASSIGNED?
A. All coaches who volunteer will be assigned to their own child's team. Legacy FC's Rec Soccer programs could not run without the assistance of volunteer coaches and family members -- moms, dads, grandparents, uncles, aunts, and siblings.

Q. WHAT IS THE COMMITMENT LEVEL?
A. Legacy FC offers community-based recreational programs, so that kids can try soccer without committing to a competitive traveling league with an overwhelming schedule. You are here to have fun while learning and playing the game of soccer.

Q. WHAT EQUIPMENT IS DO I NEED?
A. Every player is required to wear shin guards (covered by long socks). Soccer cleats can be worn but are not mandatory -- many players wear tennis/athletic shoes.

It's also highly recommended that each child have their own ball.

U4: Size 3 ball
U6: Size 3 ball
U8: Size 3 ball
U10: Size 4 ball
U13: Size 4 ball

Q. CAN  MY CHILD WEAR JEWELRY?
A. No jewelry may be worn by any player during the games. If possible, please avoid having your child’s ears pierced during the season -- earrings are not permitted on the field for any reason. Medical bracelets are the only exception and they must be taped. Religious jewelry is exempted by law.

Q. WHAT HAPPENS IF THE WEATHER IS BAD?
A. The weather can sometimes get in the way of a safe soccer experience. LFC follows TCSL's cancellation rules and communicates with other area sports programs to ensure your child's safety in the event of inclement weather. The final call is sent to all participants by 4:00pm on play days.
